Meet Your NEW Digital Pickleball Coach! - SwingVision AI App
What if you had a digital pickleball coaching assistant every time you stepped on court. And that assistant would track:
- Each type of shot you hit,
- Your success rate for each shot
- Your speed on each shot
...and not only that, it spits out video clips that remove all the dead time between points. Skip straight to the action so you only see what you're most interested in.

Free Swing Stick ($100 Value) with purchase of a Pro Plan. 45 Day Money Back Guarantee.

And what's more is that you can filter further, isolating down to only viewing certain shots.
For example, let's say you know you struggle more on your backhand side. You can tell the filter that you only want to see your backhands.
Well, it will cut straight to you backhands only and build a video of just that so that you can look closely at what’s going on. When you see all your backhands in quick succession... the issues stand out more clearly. As a player striving to get an edge and get better, that’s a highly valuable tool.
Not only that, it can call lines for you. Say goodbye to disputes about line calls forever.
And those are just some highlights. It can do so much more that that. It's jam packed with awesome features that can make this already great game even more fun. It does that by pushing the boundaries of AI technology through innovation.
Sound to good to be true?
Well...I have good news.
It's arrived in pickleball and its already been battle tested in tennis so it has hit the ground running in pickleball.
I've started testing it out and it's already very cool and it's only getting better. It's an app you can download on your phone and it's called SwingVision.
There's so much to unpack about this app, and today we're very lucky to have the CEO and co-founder of SwingVision, Swupnil Sahai, join us and tell us about his awesome app.

One of the main skills that separates high level players from low levels players is the ability to receive an incoming shot that has speed on it and send it back slower than it came in, and keeping it short in the court and low crossing the net. It requires great feel and ball control to hit with such precision. Where does this skill show up in pickleball? It shows up on primarily two shots. Th...

How To Train Forehands & Backhands On A Ball Machine (Slingerbag)

    i’m only 17 minutes into this video and I think I’ve said OMG three times already! Feature request: 1) send scores to DUPR. 2) share session data with a student. That is, as an instructor, have the feature where I can sell the session results to my students for a small fee. Perhaps swingvision gets a Percent. I haven’t even downloaded the app yet and I’m thinking it’s app of the year.

      No data plan needed to use the app! As long as you get on WiFi at some point, your videos & stats will back up to the SwingVision cloud. With that said, you will need a network connection on the court if you want to use your Android phone to check the camera, start/stop recordings, or challenge line calls. Tethering could be a good option for this 👍

    Thank you, Nicole. I am wondering how this will affect coaching... It seems that having this platform for coaches to provide feedback might be short lived. The feedback and coaching tips will be reviewed and coded and then AI would provide direct feedback to players... Would you agree?

    • @primetimepickleball
      @primetimepickleball 3 дні тому

      As great as AI is and, yes, some useful feedback can be provided, it doesn’t do great with highly specific and nuanced things. I am not at all worried about AI fully replacing coaches. There is always a place for great human coaching.

    It doesn’t seem to terribly helpful to me yet.I know he said a suite of ‘coaching’ pieces are coming later. And to have coaches (like you) be able to provide actionable items would be tops. Practical question, how do you get the camera angle right on the stick since it is high in the air? I have a hard enough time with a simple fence rail clamp.😀 And he is one smart guy. Thanks for the interview.

      Swupnil is super smart, no doubt. It just takes a little practice when placing. I thought I would have more trouble placing it correctly than I do TBH so that was a pleasant surprise lol. An iwatch will solve it completely. I might get one.

    First let me say this, I have Swingvision, I like Swingvision, I would recommend Swingvision. That being said, let me temper the expectations from some of the claims here: Swingvision is mostly useful for recording your games, having them auto uploaded to the cloud with jumpcuts, and auto purged from your phone. It’s worth the price of admission just for that. But all this other stuff doesn’t work so well. The AI is really bad at telling who is who. If you filter just by your shots, you’re going to see shots from lots of other people too. If you filter just by backhands, you’re going to see a lot of forehands. It’s also clearly made by tennis players who have no knowledge of pickleball. There’s no reference to dinks, drops, or anything like that. Everything is in tennis terms, even in the pickleball mode. It’s a good app, it’s worth it just as a recording and video hosting solution. But if you’re getting it for accurate stat tracking or anything like that, you’re going to be disappointed.

    One shot that is never talked about or is considered off limits is a lob from the baseline. I don't know why this. When you and your partner are stuck at the baseline in a defensive position with your opponents established at the kitchen line I will occasionally lob the ball with topspin high over their heads, where they are forced to scramble back while we then rush to the line. We will typically win this point as they are then forced to try a baseline drop or drive off balance after they reach the lob.

    Hi Nicole, my mixed doubles partner has one and he was kind enough to bring it today for our drills. it was awesome and definitely provided us with a great practice secession. I was curious on getting something for myself and started looking at different machines for me when I couldn't find someone to drill with. I seem to be leaning towards the Tutor Mini with the oscillator. I was curious on your thoughts about the two of them comparatively.

    • @primetimepickleball
      @primetimepickleball 10 днів тому

      Most machines fire the ball pretty well. The challenge comes with getting it on and off court. Anyone I’ve seen with a tutor also needs a cart with wheels in which to transport the machine, balls, pick up tube and anything else. That’s why I prefer slingerbag. It shines in the overlooked yet very important area of transport. Also it comes with remote. Often that’s an extra.

    Great video analysis. I feel like one thing missing is the need to impart top spin. If the ball is hit this hard, unless it is just clearing the net by an inch or two, it must have top spin to stay in the court. It seems she uses a bit of the windshield wiper motion as she snaps through the shot. Is that how you see it?

    • @primetimepickleball
